Impulse withstanding voltage test is a type of electrical test that evaluates the insulation performance and safety of electrical products.
Impulse voltage generator (or impulse withstanding voltage tester, or impulse test generator, or high voltage surge generator) is mainly used for impulse withstand voltage test of electronic and electrical products and equipment. The performance is in line with standard IEC60060-1, -2, IEC61010, IEC 61730-2, IEC 60255-5, IEC 60255-27, IEC 60335-1 etc. Product can generate different level wave (1.2/50μs) impulse. The application is quite wide, such as household appliances, low voltage electrical appliances, solar panels, energy meter, low voltage electrical appliances and so on. It is suitable for all kinds of electrical and electronic products insulation performance test.
The impulse voltage test is carried out with a voltage having 1.2/50μs waveform (detailed see IEC 61180). It also covers overvoltages due to switching of low-voltage equipment.
