International standard IEC/EN 61000-4-5 defines two different waveform generators: one is the combination wave generator (voltage waveform: 1.2/50μs, current waveform: 8/20μs), and the other is the combination wave generator meeting the requirements of the international Telecommunication Union Commission (voltage waveform: 10/700μs, current waveform: 5/320μs).
The test levels are 1, 2, 3, 4 and X
According to the requirements of IEC/EN 61000-4-5 standard, the lightning surge test on power line and communication line shall be simulated respectively. Due to different impedances of the line, the waveforms of surge on these lines are also different, which should be simulated separately.
