Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a common natural phenomenon. The effects of ESD on electrical and electronic equipment, devices or systems are everywhere. It is a very high degree of harmful electromagnetic energy. Only to improve the level of anti-static interference can ensure the safe use of electronic products.

ESD immunity test simulates the following two situations

1) Direct application of discharges to the EUT (application of the discharge directly to the EUT)

2) Indirect application of the discharge (application of the discharge to a coupling plane in the vicinity of the EUT to simulate personnel discharge to objects which are adjacent to the EUT)

ESD 20K Application Notes

1) Do not use this instrument in high humidity (relative humidity 30%~60%)

2) Equipment S.G. terminal must be grounded reliably during test

3) AC in power supply port must be connected well. Pay attention to "L" and "N". Cannot be connected reversely!

4) When the instrument is powered on, do not touch electrode of the discharge gun with your hands to prevent electric shock.

5) When replace of the EUT during test, please make sure the instrument has stopped running, and the interface is displayed as the parameters setting interface.

6) Make sure the device is in stop state before powering off.
