There are two testing methods for EFT testing as per specified in IEC/EN 61000-4-4.
1) Through the CDN for power ports
2) With a capacitive coupling clamp for signal and control ports
EFT test setup
The test shall be carried out on the basis of a test plan that shall include the verification of the
performances of the EUT as defined in the technical specification.
The EUT shall operate in its normal operating conditions.
The test plan shall specify:
– type of test;
– test level;
– coupling mode (common mode, or when no CDN is available);
– polarity of the test voltage;
– duration of the test per port;
– repetition frequency;
– EUT ports to be tested;
– representative operating conditions of the EUT;
– sequence of application of the test voltage to the ports of the EUT;
– auxiliary equipment (AE).
