Lightning surge generators are used to evaluate the performance of device subjected to high energy disturbances from the power line port and other signal line ports.
When using a lightning surge generator, please remember to follow the precautions below.
1) Correct installation, wiring according to the manufacturer's instruction and manual.
Any improper operation may lead to failures or problems in the power system.
2) Test rate of the lightning surge generator is 1 time per minute especially for higher voltage, which should not be too fast, so that the lightning surge generator can have a performance recovery process.
In fact, the natural lightning strike phenomenon, and the switching of large switches in the switching stations cannot have a very high repetition rate.
3) When conduct lightning surge generator test, generally positive/negative polarity each do 5 times.
4) The test voltage of the lightning surge generator should be gradually increased from low to high level.
In addition, please pay attention to the test voltage. It shall not exceed requirements of the product standard to avoid unnecessary damage.
5) If the surge generator is not used for a long time, it needs to be regularly dusted and powered to ensure normal work of the device.
6) When touching the LCD screen, do not use a sharp object or too much force to avoid damage to the screen or reduce its service life.
7) Surge generator shall be regularly sent to relevant metrology institute for inspection and calibration.
