Lightning surge generator is widely used in power system, power equipment and many other fields, to evaluate the performance of device subjected to high energy disturbances from the power line port and other signal line ports. It is often used to protect electrical equipment from lightning strikes and power surges. Safe operation and maintenance process of the lightning surge generator is described as below.
1. Do not disassemble the instrument. The internal parts cannot be replaced by the user.
2. Do not turn on or operate the instrument in the event of explosion risk.
3. The instrument shall be used in a dry room. If condensate is found, please dry the generator before using it.
4. Before using this instrument, please make sure the wiring (connection) is correct.
5. When the instrument is in use, there will be dangerous power supply voltage or high voltage inside the device and the panel socket. Direct or indirect contact through wet object shall bring fatal danger.
6. When connecting, or removing any test lead/line, please make sure the instrument has stopped running.
7. The power switch must be turned off before installing or removing the power cord.
8. Regularly inspect the equipment. Regularly check the power cables, grounding cables, plugs, and sockets of devices to ensure that they are in normal contact. Check the integrity of the support structure, fastening screws, and device shell to prevent loosening and damage.
9. Regular maintenance of equipment. Equipment shall be regularly maintained, and timely replacement of fuses and other easily damaged parts. During maintenance, keep the air vent of the device smooth to improve heat dissipation.
10. The instrument shall be regularly sent to relevant metrology institute for inspection and calibration.
