With the wide application of microelectronic components, the phenomenon of electrostatic hazard is becoming increasingly prominent. Electronic and electrical products need to be tested for static immunity before entering the market, mainly to avoid the electrostatic interference during the use of electronic products.

When electronic products are subjected to static interference, the following situations generally occur: the crash cannot be restarted, return to normal after the crash to restart, functional disorders etc. All these indicate that the electrostatic immunity of the product is not done well.

In this case, we will use an ESD gun (esd simulator) to detect the electrostatic immunity of the product. For civil electronic products, we generally recommend EMCSOSIN 20KV ESD gun (ESD 20K). In the standard of IEC/EN 61000-4-2, GBT17626.2, the highest level of air discharge is 15KV, so 20KV is enough for us.

During the static immunity test, we should hold the static gun in hand and carry out incremental discharge test vertically. If the above situations occur during the test, we will determine that the static immunity test of the test product is unqualified, and then carry out corresponding rectification.
