Many people did not do preparation work before using the ESD (electrostatic discharge) generator, which may result in unexpected failures during use. No matter what equipment is, it’s necessary to check it and do some preparations before using. Today we will tell you the preparations needed before using an ESD simulator.
First, the grounding wire of ESD generator needs to be firmly fixed to the grounding plate. It will be very dangerous if the connection is not firm. Then the EUT needs to be placed on a table covered with white insulating mat, and it should not be in contact with metal conductive objects.
Secondly, after the equipment is placed, the next step is parameter setting of the ESD simulator. Need to power on the ESD simulator and start the boot screen. When setting the parameters, discharge mode of the ESD generator is contact discharge and air discharge. There are four options for the discharge mode, and there are some other parameter options, voltage setting, discharge count, interval, and discharge standard. Our ESD generators compliant with IEC/EN 61000-4-2 and ISO 10605, pre-programed standard test levels.
