Overview
ISO 7637 Transient Generator RV P3 can generate transient pulse 3a and 3b. Pulse 3a and 3b simulate transients which occur as a result of the switching processes. The characteristics of these transients are influenced by distributed capacitance and inductance of the wiring harness, which are of high-speed, low-energy that commonly cause erroneous operation in devices using microprocessors or digital logic control.
Pulse 3a simulates fast, repetitive negative transients superimposed on the supply voltage, caused by switching processes in the vehicle (e.g. DC motor commutation, relay switching). These are narrow, fast pulses that stress the high-frequency immunity of electronic circuits.
Pulse 3b is the positive counterpart of Pulse 3a, representing positive fast switching transients on the supply line.

Optional: ISO 7637 Transient Generator RV P3 Accessory Capacitive Coupling Clamp (ISO 7637-3)
The capacitive coupling clamp RV CC is manufactured exactly in accordance with the drawings and specifications of ISO 7637-3 for capacitively coupling the transients onto cables and wiring harnesses. It is used together with the automotive transient pulse generator RV P3 to evaluate the immunity performance of the point-of-entry device (POED) against electrical transients coupled to non-power lines, fully complying with the standard requirements of IEC/EN 61000-4-3 and GB/T 21437.3.
